I am. Hell, I've been waiting all summer for it. ESPN.com has a great list of unknowns that will determine the course of the season, but one thing is clear: the Patriots are still the team to beat.
With Charlie Weiss at Notre Dame and Romeo Crennel leading the Browns this year, the Pats will be without two of their best brains this season. The team's success will rest on the ability of head coach Belichik to call the offensive plays and the untested Eric Mangini to channel Belichik's ideas into effective defensive game play.
I'm not worried. I think it may take a few games for the new play-calling team to adjust and work out the kinks, but neither the new staff nor the roster changes the Pats endured in the off-season will make a huge dent in the team' ability to win games. The Pats win because they have the best leaders the league has to offer: Brady on the field and Belichik in the locker room.
it's Belichick, not "Belichik."
but no matter how you spell it, Herman Edwards' Jets are going to rock the AFC East.
