Theo Epstein resigned as GM from the Boston Red Sox. ESPN's word is that it's how he was treated. What the heck? Sorry Sox fans. First a team with an even longer streak without a World Series bookends the reversed curse, and then the highly-vaunted (and deservedly so) Epstein, who is credited with putting together the 2004 Championship team heads for the hills (or valleys, just not Fenway). Damn, man. If anyone is finding out about this for the first time here, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
All that said, championships are won on the field, not the front office. So the Sox have a tricky off season ahead of them, but they'll be all right.
